Benefits of Joining MeAMSS

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT - July 2023

Dear fellow MeAMSS members,

As President for the years 2023 and 2024, I am very excited to welcome you to our brand-new website! I hope you will enjoy exploring and share constructive feedback with us.

I would like to introduce you to our Board members:

President-Elect  Susan Gilson, CPCS
Past President  Nicki Palmitessa
Secretary  Susan McPhail, CPCS
Treasurer  Mike Durgin, CPCS
Education Chair  Jim Rieder
Media Chair  Brandie DeWitt
Membership Chair  Pam Loughlin, CPCS, CPMSM
Lighthouse Editor  Tracey Morrison
Member-at-Large  Pam Higgins

As a Board, we will work to grow our membership, and we encourage you to continue staying engaged so we can learn from each other and share best practices.

Top reasons to be a MeAMSS member:

  1. Collaboration – Work together with various associations and certification/licensing agencies to realize shared goals, knowledge, and resources.
  2. Access – Find new employment opportunities or advertise one.
  3. Information – Keep up with the latest issues and industry information that affects Medical Staff Professionals.
  4. Leadership Opportunities – Gain personal and professional growth, as well as a broader view of the depth and vision for the association, by taking on a leadership role. If you are not ready for that, there are also opportunities to volunteer for committees.
  5. Shared Resources – Don’t recreate the wheel! Share ideas/documents with others.
  6. Education – Gain the knowledge you need to do your job through opportunities like our Biennial Conference.
  7. Networking – Connect with others who can help you answer the questions you might have, or that you get asked.
  8. And the #1 reason: BELONG . . . to an association of likeminded individuals endeavoring to make a difference in the quality of healthcare provided in our communities.

We look forward to offering you innovative education and networking opportunities that will help you stay up-to-date in credentialing, privileging, provider enrollment, and other medical staff related matters. We try to include topics of interest to all members. If you have any topics that you would like to see presented, or presenters that you would like to hear more from, please feel free to let me know. It would also be very helpful if you are able to host us at your facility for one of our meetings.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to any of us for questions or concerns. I look forward to working with all of you and getting to know you better during my term.

It is an honor and privilege to serve as your President for the next two years!
